Location

Betula Chalet offers the ideal base to explore the spectacular North-East of Scotland. Only a few miles north is Nairn beach, a superb sandy beach with beautiful views across the Moray Firth to the Black Isle. This coastline is home to a resident school of dolphins. There is also a great range of coastal walks in either direction with a nature reserve at 'Kingsteps' in the east and a viewpoint to the west.

It is a short drive south to explore the Cairngorms National Park a truly a thrilling land of adventure and discovery and by far the biggest National Park in the UK. It boasts natural gems such as mountains and gorges, forests and rivers, and within the park you will wonder in the delight of ancient highland communities and whisky distilleries.

You are only 20 miles from the historic city of Inverness where the River Ness meets the Moray Firth. The largest city and the cultural capital of the Scottish Highlands. Its Old Town features 19th-century Inverness Cathedral, the mostly 18th-century Old High Church and an indoor Victorian Market selling food, clothing and crafts. Not to forget is the Inverness Castle you can explore, overlooking the city and river. The contemporary Inverness Museum and Art Gallery traces local and Highland history.

You get the best of both worlds: coast and country and if you want, city!
